I figured it would only be a matter of time before we dug up some bones with all the digging we planned to do. I just didn’t know we’d be finding them quite so soon. Pappy actually found them on the first day of digging!
They looked like really, really long teeth. Longer than you would expect from most animals. As it happens, Rich swatted at a bee one day and bought some really old books at his great-grandmother’s estate auction. One of those books was about keeping and caring for horses. Being the genius that he is, he knew right away that they were horse teeth. The horse shoe they found near by probably helped too. 🙂 So, no crazy dinosaur bones or anything, but we did find our very own lucky charm!
Pappy and Rich have been burning the midnight oil and only have about 50 feet left to dig to the house. It will be interesting to see what other things we find as time goes on. After all, who would have thought they’d bury a horse right there?
